Patience is the ability to wait or continue doing something despite difficulties. Like the old English phrase goes by Violet Fane, “Good things come to those who wait.” Pregnancy is a perfect example of the practice of patience. You have nine months to allow the baby to grow and develop into this perfect little human. You cannot rush the process. There are aches, pains, and trials along the way but in the end there is a beautiful gift that needs time to grow.
Persistence is the ability to stick with the plan! Don’t give up! Ignore the distractions and the noise. Keep a scale in the bathroom, picture on your wall, spreadsheet on your computer, or note on your refrigerator. You need to constantly remind yourself of why you are doing what you are doing and keep moving towards your target goal.
Positivity is having a positive attitude and mindset. A positive mental attitude is crucial when facing new challenges. If you have a positive mindset you look for opportunity in hardships. You will look at failure as a learning experience and as an opportunity to grow. A positive attitude will help you focus and give you the ability to do anything you put your mind too!
